Calling all ZED Headz – a community meet-up event is happening on Saturday, August 6 at one of America’s oldest and most prestigious horse racing tracks, and you’re invited!
Running since 1928, ‘Whitney Day’ at the Saratoga Racetrack, located in Saratoga Springs, New York, is the location for the latest ZED RUN community gathering organised by East Coast Stables (ECS) and Pony Zook.
With some of the world’s finest thoroughbreds battling for their share of over $1.5 million dollars in prize pools, and an automatic berth into the legendary Breeders’ Cup Classic, `Whitney Day’ is one of the most exciting horse races in America at one of the most historic sports venues the country has.
“I’ve been to Saratoga before and it’s an electrifying atmosphere. There is nothing better than enjoying live horse racing with a bunch of other people you know with the same passion!" ECS says.
Co-organised by Pony Zook, 13 ZED RUN stables have already confirmed their attendance, with many more expected to RSVP.
Aside from good in-person conversations, networking, and good old fashioned smack talk, ECS says he will be giving away his stable merchandise, and the crew will be conducting livestreams from the event.
While many in the group are reserving accommodation to stay in the same area for multiple days, admission for ‘Whitney Day’ is charged at the racetrack itself, so ZED Headz can come on the day of the race and join the fun.
“I’ll be personally staying near downtown Lake George,” ECS says. “The area is known for boating, fishing, and its restaurants. So there is plenty to see and do!”
“A few have booked to stay directly at Saratoga Hotel Casino which is right next to the track.”
For those that do plan to attend, ECS and Pony Zook ask you complete this form so the group can stay in contact to coordinate dinner plans and Happy Hour meet-ups, and assist with planning entertainment, such as custom races and in-person tournaments.
According to the website, gates open for Whitney Day at 11:30 am, and the first race kicks off at 12pm. Races will take place throughout the day, culminating in the evening with the $1 million dollar Grade 1 Whitney Stakes purse.
ECS says following the ZED RUN Happy Hour event at NFT NYC and a host of previous catch-ups, it only felt right to get the band back together at one of the most historic racetracks in the world.
“This past year I have been a part of a lot of communities, but I can truly say there is nothing better than the community ZED RUN has,” ECS says.
“We have already had some amazing meet-ups over the past few months with a lot of new friendships made - so there’s no reason to stop anytime soon!"
