Since joining the ZED RUN team in March, Senior Game Designer Sam McAlpine has worked on improving design features and refining existing processes that make the game one of the industry’s most exciting experiences.
“I’ve been working on bringing more gameplay depth to ZED RUN by improving the progression systems to make every gaming session rewarding and entertaining,” McAlpine says.
“ZED RUN clearly cares about innovation beyond what traditional gaming has to offer, and I’m excited to leverage my experience to help build what is possible.”
McAlpine says his experience working with in-game economies and asset ownership most excites him when looking at his future work at ZED RUN.
McAlpine joins ZED RUN with over nine years of gaming industry experience under his belt, including most recently at Rival Stars Horse Racing. His past experiences range from mobile, PC, console, and even VR games as an expert in Systems and Economy Design.
“Coming from a mostly Free-2-Play background, I’m thrilled to see how Play and Earn will evolve and become more commonplace,” McAlpine says.
“I’m most intrigued by asset ownership in gaming and the communities that help shape more decentralised gaming platforms.”
McAlpine says his exploration of new technologies started over 10 years ago, a decade of learning that led to publishing his own mobile game, and along the way, becoming hooked on the thrill of creating entertaining experiences that are only limited by our imaginations.
“I think as an industry we’ve only just scratched the surface of what is possible within the Web3 space,” McAlpine says. “With NFTs/Digital collectables and entertainment, I’m excited to be a part of this constantly evolving industry.”
