February 24-26 – The Sunset Stakes
Over the past few weeks, players have competed to reach L700. With just under a week of racing left, we can’t wait to see how many horses make it to C1 and secure their place on the track.
The Sunset Stakes marks the final tournament in ZED RUN, featuring a $100,000 $ZED Token prize pool. Three massive days of top-tier racing, showcasing the best of the best. It's bound to be an emotional ride, but we can’t wait to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion!

February 28 – Snapshot and Leaderboard Lock
At 00:00 UTC on February 28, we’ll lock the Legacy Leaderboard and take a snapshot to determine your rewards tier in ZED Champions. As outlined [in this blog], rewards will reflect your engagement, ownership and contributions to the ecosystem.
February 28 – ZED RUN Sunset & Rewards Claim Opens
At 10:00 PM UTC (5:00 PM ET | March 1, 9:00 AM AEDT), ZED RUN will officially sunset. The zed.run website will transition into the rewards claim portal, where players can log in to access a claim code for their badge that can be redeemed on login to ZED Champions on March 3.
Depending on your reward tier, you’ll receive one of eight tradable badges. Each badge contains a mix of rewards including $ZED Token (as internal balance) and reZED (locked $ZED in-game currency), racing and breeding horses. After the claim period ends, the corresponding horses, $ZED Token, and reZED will be airdropped to the badge owner.
The claim site will be open for over a month, giving stable owners plenty of time to claim, trade, and/or sell their badges in the marketplace.
Unclaimed Rewards
Players will have over a month to claim their rewards, if you miss the claim period, your rewards will be allocated to the Treasury.
The racing pool will launch with 4320 horses, including unclaimed ones. These horses will compete, gain or lose balance, and eventually retire through standard game mechanics.
The Holding Reward – Earn More for Holding
Holding onto your $ZED token on Base in your ZED Champions wallet during this period will maximise your rewards. All players who do will receive 5% of the average total value of their holdings (in their Champions Wallet) as a reZED reward, distributed over the first two seasons (Season 0 and Season 1).
March 3 – ZED Champions Marketplace Opens
On March 3, the ZED Champions Marketplace will officially open, giving players the opportunity to buy, sell, and trade their Rewards Badges. This will be a key hub for anyone looking to optimise their stable ahead of the full launch.
Alpha 3 - Early Access Waitlist
Wondering what to do during the transition? Sign up to the waitlist for early access to Alpha 3 and get a feel for the game. While you won’t use your own stable, horses, or $ZED since it’s still on testnet—we’ll provide everything you need.
March 3 - Bridging Your $ZED Token to ZED Champions
Transitioning your $ZED Token requires a 1:1 bridge, which we will provide. Once bridged, polygon-based tokens will be locked, and a new liquidity pool will be initialised on Base.
Here’s how it works:
- Choose your destination wallet by entering the email associated with your account on zedchampions.com
- Sign an approval transaction to authorise the bridge
- Sign a bridge transaction to finalise the transfer.
This is a 1:1 transfer. Virtually Human Studio will cover the gas for both transactions. We’ll also provide a link so you can track your bridging progress, which may take up to 20 minutes.
The bridging UI has been designed for clarity and ease of use. With clear guidance at every step—from claim to onboarding—the process will help players integrate smoothly into ZED Champions.
