Andrew – owner of the ZED RUN stable Sniff and Chloe – spends a lot of time keeping up with his eight year-old daughter Chloe’s eclectic interests. Between her passion for learning to play the piano and cello to her love of playing golf competitively, it can be a part-time job in itself.
“Chloe’s dream is to be a sponsored championship golfer, so I support her training,” Andrew says.
“I’m not good at golf, so I play the role of driver and caddy for her on most occasions.”
Like many kids, Chloe has a hectic after-school activity schedule that keeps Andrew on the run. But it’s been Chloe’s interest in her Dad’s hobby of playing ZED RUN that has led to even more father-daughter bonding time when they’re home.
“One day she was sitting next to me while I was playing ZED. I got her to name some racehorses,” Andrew says.
“She started by wanting to name racehorses after My Little Ponies, but she soon discovered many of those names were already taken,” Andrew says.
“She likes to make names from mixing the parents' names, coming up with random names, or naming them after people that appear in our Twitch chat
Andrew says it isn’t just him catching heat on their Sniff Racing Twitch channel when his racehorses don’t perform as well as he hoped. Chloe is also keen on delivering cold hard truth to those who tune-in to their streams by accessing and handing down a tough ‘Chloe Rating’ to their racehorses.
“Chloe spends lots of time looking at racehorses, so I tell the chat to show her theirs,” Andrew says.
“She likes to tease people in chat, and its evolved into a ‘Chloe Rating’ system that features a thumbs up, thumbs down, or even double thumbs down for very bad ones”
According to Andrew, Chloe’s favourite ZED RUN racehorse overall is Ready, Set, Boom, but her favourite racehorse in her own stable is Does Snowy Stuff, a gift from Jake at Iceberg Racing.
While the most meaningful metric of success for Sniff Stables is measured by father-daughter memories made, Andrew says the generosity of the ZED RUN community in sending racehorses has jump-started their success, but they’re still in search of a tournament victory.
“We’ve had some good results – with three racehorses making Grand Finals – but our most memorable moment was one of our Z268’s winning a race, beating a Z1.”
As far as her friends are concerned, Chloe says she hasn’t told her friends about ZED RUN yet, but she thinks they would love it just like she does.
For now, they’re spending their time together playing with things they know best.
“Most of my friends love to play Roblox, and I do too.”
