Continuing our endeavour to showcase the best and brightest tools and their creators, this week we’re highlighting Zlead, a sharp analytical tool for racing, and breeding made by well-known community member Danshan!
Zlead is unique for its deep analysis and fine-tuned speed information which can be used to improve a stable’s racing game, or their breeding prowess.
Origin Story
Danshan has been a popular member of the ZED RUN community for quite some time, gathering notoriety not long after he began his ZED RUN journey in March 2021. Best known for his deep theories and analysis around racing and breeding environments, he felt that ZED RUN offered “a legit opportunity for numerical analysis,” which is what really grabbed his attention.
After refining his theories over time, and realising the importance of speed, he wanted to have all the essential information at his fingertips, and offer a way for other stables to do the same; thus, the origin of Zlead.
Zlead began with a purpose: “It was a vision of mine of trying to combine some of the best ZED RUN tool sites into one,” Danshan explained. Zlead would come to have all the essential information on a racehorse; racing stats including speed and profit, and breeding information like decay levels and ancestry.
Most-Loved Features
Most users come to Zlead for information on speed, which is colour-coded in the ‘Speed Tab’ to make it easier to understand.
Zlead is unique in that it focuses on recent versus overall speeds, with 90-day speeds being a key focus. This keeps the data more relevant to the current racing environment, as new breeds hit the tracks and change the competitive landscape.
Another crowd-favourite Zlead feature is the breeding information, primarily the info on breed decay levels and the Family Tree tab. The exact breeding reset date and time is available, as well as how many offspring a racehorse has bred into decay (if non-genesis), and a list of the parents and children a racehorse has. All making it easier to analyse the breed potential of a racehorse.
Speed Shoe: A Powerful Tool
One of the most useful Zlead features that should get more use is the Speed Shoe. In Danshan’s own words, “the normalised times of the Speed Shoe might make it one of the strongest pieces of data on your racehorse for any tool, free or paid.” The normalisation removes some of the guesswork out of a solid early performance, showing if a racehorse is truly good, or if it’s been simply getting lucky.

Danshan’s Vision, and Zlead Tournaments
Part of what sets Zlead apart is Danshan’s philosophy around his place in the metaverse and ZED RUN community. His main strategy is to survive through adaptation and evolution, focusing on the present and future rather than on the historical data points, especially since they’ll be less useful in the new racing system.
“My vision is to adapt my tools to fit the current ZED RUN racing algo, and be ahead of the curve on current racehorse analytics. I feel it’s also my specialty to make small adjustments quickly, which gives a huge edge to my tools,” Danshan elaborated.
Zlead offers plenty of resources for all stables, and even has its own third-party tournaments regularly, giving stable owners another way to have fun and compete.
