Maiden Stakes - Yeahhh Baby!
Get ready ZEDHeadz! The Maiden Stakes are back on Feb. 13, 2023 (UTC) and it's all about discovering the newest and freshest racehorses in town. This ZED RUN Tournament format is only for racehorses that are yet to hit the track or are bred during the tournament. It's gonna be a wild ride!
Lucky Maiden 10 (LMX)
It’s time to get those newly bred racehorses off the bench for the first time since the class system and breeding improvements were implemented! LuckyJack and Zombie Racing are hosting the tenth Lucky Maiden starting at 7pm ET, February 12, so don’t miss out!
You can register your unraced racehorse to compete here under whichever breed type fits your racehorse.

ZED RUN Origin Story I first heard about ZED RUN while listening to the Hamish and Andy podcast (an Australian comedy duo) and their relatively brief ZED RUN experience. Side note, if you haven’t seen it, their Griffin race for their self proclaimed people’s champion, Thunder Castle, complete with a race call by Gerard Whateley is a must see it (linked below).From there, I dived into Poseidon’s great Youtube content, including “non-financial advice” on setting up my coinspot and metamask, buying crypto for the first time, and then my first ever ZED RUN donkey. The rest, as they say, is history.
Favourite part of ZED RUN?
Well aside from the thrill of breeding and Griffin races, I’m loving community led tournaments at the moment. With ZED RUN facilitating custom races, we are seeing some amazing innovation from the community in designing and coordinating different tournament formats.
This is injecting a lot of fun and different ways to compete with (and sledge) other stables. For instance, I just experienced the heartbreak of finishing 2nd in @Danshan’s 64 stable elimination-style C2 madness bracket - but it was so much fun along the way. There is nothing quite like sitting back and watching my racehorses being entered into custom races and tracking leaderboards.
It was this experience that led me to create my own tournament, Beat the Beasts, which was an absolute blast and provided all entrants, no matter their size, with an opportunity to race some of the best racehorses in the metaverse.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to join ZED RUN?
Lean on the amazing ZED RUN community who are always happy to help. It is a great time to buy, but you still need to be smart in how you research and find the right racehorse for your budget. So learn from the mistakes we have made, and get some help in fast forwarding your path to fun and a bit of profit along the way. Whether it’s sharing some of our favourite Hawku filters, critiquing a potential purchase, or providing some advice on horses you are already running - reach out and you will be surprised at just how many people are keen to help new stables.
