ZED RUN Origin Story:

I got started with Zed in October 2021 after seeing an advert on Twitter. I found the learning curve pretty steep and for the first few months didn't really know what I was doing to be honest. In early 2022 I reduced my working hours to 4 days a week and that allowed me to spend Fridays running my horses and getting better at the game. In those days Friday was pity point tourney day, so I very quickly built up a full stable of pity pointers, some of which made a nice profit... and from that point I was hooked. Over the years since, I have reinvented my stable multiple times in line with the changing meta, typically having around just 20-30 horses in my stable at any one time.

Favourite part of ZED RUN:

Right now, I am thoroughly enjoying running my latest breed Ice Ice Zsa Zsa. It is the first time I have had a horse with proper top tier potential and am curious to see how far it will go!

Other than that, in the past I have found the Zedge community tournaments to be superbly creative. There was one where you had to gain the most levels in a certain amount of races, one that awarded points for flaming 12ths, one for breed 3.0 var horses, etc etc. I'd love to see continuing creativity around these things that freshen up the more formulaic approaches.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to join ZED RUN?

Assuming you are on a tight budget, firstly my advice would be that once you have understood the basic concepts (var, dp, ba) buy a bunch of C5 or C6 horses that fit different profiles (high dp, high var, stability) and run them. You will learn a lot quickly about which horses suit which races and why without losing your shirt because race fees in those classes are cheap. Secondly, join the discord and don't be afraid to ask for help. The Zed community is full of people willing to give help and advice, and I have benefited personally from this in the past many times. So, don't hold back - just go for it!
