NFT NYC, June 21-23
Last week the ZED RUN team gathered in New York City for NFT NYC, a celebration of NFT and Web3 culture. Two community meet-ups, three days of conference, after parties, panel events, giveaways - NFT NYC was certainly a 2600m race squeezed into 1000m worth of time! Below are some of the highlights:
NFT NYC Conference
ZED RUN was centre stage, located inside the Marriott Marquis Times Square. New and current ZED Headz stopped by the team’s booth to chat about ZED RUN and our plans in the near-future.
Within a sea of interesting projects and vibrant creators, our booth was constantly sought out by attendees - so much so, most of our team lost their voices!
If there was one takeaway from the three-day event, it was that we loved interacting with you IRL, thank you to everyone who made the effort to come say hi - we leave even more bullish on the ZED RUN community (if that’s possible)!

ZED RUN Community Happy Hour - June 21
The ZED RUN Community Happy Hour was held at The Keg Room. ZED Headz showed up en masse to hang out IRL (some for the first time), compete for a prize pool and enjoy an exclusive look at how the game is evolving.
We took the opportunity to sit down and chat with multiple stables for one-on-one interviews and can’t wait for you to see the end result.
Perion x ZED RUN x Human Park After Party
It wouldn’t be a party without an afterparty, so we hit up the Perion x ZED RUN x Human Park event on June 22.
VIP guests including Aussie born, (just like ZED RUN) Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons, Desus from Showtime’s Desus and Mero, Heron Preston, and hundreds of others were in attendance alongside community members and VHS Team. Simmons took part in his first-ever live race, and his racehorse won!
Simmons and our CTO, Jason Melo chatted for quite some time about ZED RUN and the future of the game. But also, a little bit about Melo’s favourite NBA basketball team – the Brooklyn Nets. (Phew! That could’ve been awkward).

NASCAR Racing Challenge #2: Time Trial
The NASCAR Racing Challenge is back with the second challenge. Time Trial started from June 23 and wraps up on June 26 at 12 AM UTC.
NASCAR Pass holders can qualify by racing on either of the NASCAR branded racetracks. The top five fastest times for each breed at each distance recorded during the qualification period will win $100 USD.

Cannes Lions 2022: ZED RUN x Players’ Tribune
What happens when Co-founder and Creative Director Chris Ebeling boards a yacht in the South of France with The Players’ Tribune, NFL player, Kelvin Beachum and POAP? ZED RUN, of course!
The sports media company that specialises in providing players an outlet to speak directly to the fans received an up close and personal look at ZED RUN.

Product and UX Updates
- ‘Quick-entry’ auto-gate selector is being added for free race entries. Stable owners will no longer be required to pick a gate to enter free races.
- Saved filters are being rolled out, allowing stable owners to save racing page filters they’ve used previously.
- Increased racing availability is a top priority. We’ve increased the availability of races across all distances and classes.
- Starting on July 1, paid-only tournaments are coming!
- Every Friday the Fibonacci Cup will be a paid only racing event consisting of ‘A’ bracket only.
- After qualifying all racehorses will be rewarded. Prize pools will be announced weekly as part of the temporary treasury updates.
- The Pity Point Cup will now take place on Sunday’s.
The Future of ZED RUN
NFT NYC seemed like the perfect time to drop a glimpse into what the future of ZED RUN might look like. Playing on a loop throughout the three-day event, the exclusive hype reels were showstoppers that drew attendees towards the ZED RUN booth.
Lucky Maiden 3
The popular community-led Lucky Maiden returns June 26 for a third instalment of community-led racing fun.
