Maiden Stakes
The $100k prize pool maiden wrapped up this week, and it’s left the community celebrating some amazing victories.
Chateaux detailed in the thread below how he bred 30 horses, raced 562 times and pocketed 1.01 ETH in profit from the Maiden!
Jimi from Flaming Donkeys tore up the track this week as well, qualifying as #1 in LuckyJack’s Lucky Maiden 10 for a prize of 1.75 ETH. In addition, his Legendary Buterin Adrenaline Affair won $2100 in the Class 1 marathoner final.
Motown Motorsports showed that you can breed winning racehorses right at home. Krushed Comprende was bred in-house for only $25 and went on to win over $1200 by dominating the Class 4 midrunner semi-final and final.
Crispey bred Dancing Wizard in-house as well for only $100 and took home 10x that in tournament winnings!
Turf Athletics secured their first ZED RUN tournament win this week with Fortify Destruction, a Z18 Legendary Buterin, for a staggering final prize of $2,115.

ZED RUN Origin Story
I came over to ZED RUN from Top Shot like many others did back in April 2021. One of my friends sent me a tweet about owning digital racehorses, and I was sold. I started up a stable that day with a few friends, but none of them became as enthralled as I did. I spent way too much money on a donkey for my first racehorse (like most people during that time).
After that debacle, I dove in and spent countless hours learning more about the game and started to build back up. After a couple of months, I finally unwrapped a UU Genesis Buterin, Spoil Me, that became the cornerstone of my stable. Since then, I haven't been able to stop breeding and buying racehorses.
Favourite part of ZED RUN?
My favourite part about ZED RUN has always been racehorse scouting and race analysis. I used to spend more time doing both of those before the Racing 2.0 update, but I still enjoy that aspect of the game.
As cliché as it may sound, I do love the community too. I can truly say that some of the people I have met in ZED RUN have kept me in the game.
Also, I have really enjoyed the third party tournaments that Danshan, Zombie, and LJ have hosted. Those are a great break from the XP grind. If you are ever curious about joining one of them, don't be afraid to ask.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to join ZED RUN?
There are plenty of people in the community that have a vast amount of game knowledge and are willing to help newcomers that put in time and ask the right questions. For starting out now, I would suggest spending time looking at the best racehorses and what makes them great. Once you spend some time doing this, you'll be able to group different racehorses into different "archetypes". Then, I would suggest reaching out to some of the stables (in Discord or Twitter) and see if they have any racehorses that you could borrow. Lending has been great because it allows new users to play the game with virtually no upfront risk. People in ZED RUN love to talk, so don't hesitate to ask questions!
ZED Racer 1v1 Leaderboard
As a welcome surprise, high stakes 1v1 races were introduced into the ZED RUN lobby this week and stable owners have been battling on the track since. Zed Racer added a monthly 1v1 leaderboard to their site so we can keep track of the best heads-up runners on Novus Earth.
Check out where you stand here, and climb your way to the top!
Tournaments Update
It was announced this week that following the 100k Maiden Stakes, certain changes will be made to the tournament schedule such as using breeding fees from the stud farm to fund bi-weekly Maiden Stakes tournaments. With over 5000 newly bred racehorses hitting the track for the last tournament (shown below), we’re excited to see what’s in store for the next one!
Sit and Go tournaments will also be a focus of the upcoming racing landscape, so you’ll soon be able to avoid the qualification grind and instead pay to enter a tournament directly. We expect these to be up and running on the platform by the end of the first quarter of 2023, so get your stable ready!
As for the current treasury allocation, the focus will be on strong onboarding and a marketing push in the first half of 2023 and used to create exciting events to help the game grow!
For more information, the official announcement can be found here in our Discord server.

Plus, hang with Jigga, Doughboy, and Zook as they bring the heat to the tracks.
